On September 6, a major event took place in Kyiv — the first conference Ukrainian Padel Expo. Together, fans of this sport, partners and the public gathered.
Why padel in particular? Because it is not just a modern and accessible sport. It is an effective tool for physical and psychological rehabilitation:
Engagement in team play: sport helps restore a sense of team spirit.
Low barrier to entry: learning to play padel is not difficult, and this makes the sport accessible to people with different levels of physical fitness
Socialisation and recovery: the activity helps relieve tension, fosters communication and the building of a friendly community.
But the focus was not only on sport.
An important social mission was the presentation of the first award “Ambassador of the Veteran Movement”.
The award went to the president of the Ukrainian Padel Federation, rector of KNUBA Oleksii Dniprov. The award was presented by the ambassador of the Veterans Cluster of Ukraine, deputy head of the Veterans Institute Yevhen Komarov. It is a symbiosis of higher education, sport and veteran initiatives that demonstrates a systematic approach to the integration and adaptation of our heroes.
And this is only the beginning! The presentation of the award launches a major systemic initiative to recognise partners, businesses, sports and civic organisations that work with veterans in a systematic way — supporting rehabilitation programmes, employment, adaptive sport or educational initiatives.
We invite organisations that support the veterans' movement and carry out inclusive and social projects to join our community!
