Presentation “Relaunch. Kyiv – a City for Everyone.” A new vision of the tourist capital

An open, accessible and comfortable city. A city for everyone. This is how the authorities and experts see Kyiv in the near future. The updated concept for developing the capital’s tourism sector was presented on December 17 at the Kyivinform press center. Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Maryna Honda noted that work had been done to update the tourism industry with a view to the period after the end of the full-scale invasion. And according to Maryna Honda, many people around the world will want to come and see the capital of a country that has held out and continues to develop despite the war. Among the key steps in the relaunch of Kyiv’s tourism sector that can be seen as early as 2026: installation of new tourist stands (currently there are 6 such objects in the city), each of which will have a QR code with an audio guide, quests, interactive features and augmented-reality elements; creation of a tourist map of the capital with 25 main locations; updating the “GoToKyiv” tourism portal with the option to buy excursions online, a personal account for guides, tourist routes and an events calendar; expanding excursion routes and formats of getting to know the city. The head of the Tourism and Promotion Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, Liia Kornienko, in presenting the new concept, focused on inclusivity, digitalization and creating a single tourism portal. Deputy head of the Institute of Veterans “Architecture of Resilience” of KNUBA Yevhen Komarov took part in the panel discussion “Relaunch and Development of the Hospitality Industry: Accessibility, Quality, Efficiency.” In particular, he addressed the issue of veterans’ employment. According to Yevhen Komarov, about 2 million veterans will need employment in the future. They will be both employees and consumers. Therefore, it is extremely important to ensure equal access to all opportunities for veterans and everyone who needs it. The Institute of Veterans “Architecture of Resilience” is open to cooperation in training on the principles of inclusion and accessibility and has the necessary specialists for this. It also offers to work together to make the space as comfortable as possible for veterans and to develop in this direction.
