Veterans and defenders can submit documents for master's admission from August 7

The Veterans Cluster of Ukraine, together with the Veterans Institute “Architecture of Resilience” of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, continues to support veterans, active service members and their family members as part of the 2026 admissions campaign.

Applications for the master's programme open on August 7. By then, applicants must create an electronic account, register their benefit, pass a foreign-language interview and take the specialist entrance examinations.

Participants in the programme can receive free tuition in more than 50 specialities and over 100 educational programmes. Funding is possible through state compensation programmes, grants, scholarships and employer support programmes.

The programme also provides for retraining, professional development, obtaining a second higher education degree, and admission to master's or doctoral studies. Veterans are offered full-time, part-time, online and distance forms of study, which makes it possible to combine education with work, treatment, rehabilitation or military service.

During their studies, participants can receive psychological support, join projects to rebuild Ukraine and engage with employers. Among the programme's partners are the companies Axor, Barks and other business representatives.

The network of partner universities includes KNUBA, the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport, West Ukrainian National University, the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, NUBiP of Ukraine, Drohobych State Pedagogical University, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University and the University of Educational Management.

An educational and rehabilitation centre for veterans operates at the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport.

One of the programme's students is veteran Vadym Honcharenko, who is studying at KNUBA to train coaches in adaptive sports. According to him, the choice of speciality was connected with his own experience of rehabilitation through sport.

“I want to show people who, because of a wound or disability, think that an active life is over for them, that this is not so. Much depends on us ourselves,” Honcharenko noted.

He also advises applicants to focus on their own needs and to choose a speciality that will be practically useful after graduation.

The Veterans Cluster stresses that little time remains to make a decision, but applicants can still prepare their documents and complete the necessary procedures before applications open.
